Spiritual Art

This is artwork that was spiritually inspired, either to me or to another person.

Heaven’s Door

Soft Pastel 2018 14 x 19

As I was driving home I saw this sunbeam and was immediately captivated.  My friend also saw a sunbeam the same day and took a photo of it.  In her photo was what looked like a house right in the middle of the sunbeam.  Jesus encouraged His followers that He is going to prepare a place for us in heaven.  Our heavenly Father wants us to remember where our true home is.  He is eagerly awaiting for us to come home.

Soaring Above the Storm

Oil on Linen 2018 26 x 34 My friend had this vision of an eagle using the winds of the storm to rise above the storm.  Our Father said in His word “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

Prayer Force

Oil on Linen One night my husband and I both woke up at the same time with the urge to get up and pray.  As we prayed, we heard that we needed to pray against the spiritual forces of depression in our area.  While we did so, I had a vision of people fervently praying, and their prayers went up to heaven as incense.  As the prayers reached heaven, God released His power and angels back down into the area to push back the darkness and spiritual forces.  It looked like a reverse atomic bomb.  Light over took the darkness.

Shepherd of the Flock

Watercolor 18 x 36

Jesus calls certain people to shepherd His flock.  He will not leave you on your own, but will guide you all the way.  He is the Good Shepherd and His sheep are His.

Blessed are the Poor

Watercolor 24 x 36 I was in Mexico on a missions trip and spotted this woman.  The Lord put it on my heart to paint her.  Matthew 5:3 says “Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”  We are blessed when we realize our utter need for Him and our total dependence on Jesus, because that is when His Kingdom comes to dwell with us and in us.

In the Everlasting Arms of Love

Oil I visited a nursing home where my mother worked.  I met a lady who had also been an artist, but was now legally blind.  When she met me, she said, “you’re the one!”  When I asked her what she meant, she said, “I had a vision of an elderly person in a wheelchair being pushed by Jesus in a beautiful garden.”  I used her as my model for the elderly person.  Shortly after the painting was completed, she went to be with the Lord.  The painting now hangs in that nursing home where she lived.

On the Edge of Heaven

Oil I can imagine Jesus standing on the edge of heaven looking down at earth, removing His royal garments, preparing to come to earth.  I am sure He was contemplative.  Though it was the hardest decision in history, God stepped out of heaven, and into our world.  All because of Perfect Love.

May I Have this Dance for the Rest of my Life

Oil 11 x 14

Jesus calls us to be His bride.  He waits eagerly.  He wants to bring us to the top of the mountain and asks us for our hand, to dance with Him in life.
